Deevs Homecoming 09

Deevs goes to one school (where none of their mutual friend go). Katie goes to another (1/2 hour away where none of their friends go). So they decided to go to Homecoming at Deevs' PREVIOUS school where they BOTH know & love a ton of people.

The girls met at 3:00 for photos at church.
Katie apparently got DRENCHED by the geyser (in the water feature/baptismal) and had to drive the half hour home to dry her dress, re-curl her hair, and re-apply her make-up... that has got to be the WORST experience for a girl! Ugh!
After photos (by the ever-fabulous Alanna) at the golf course,

the kids were chauffeured 25 minutes south (back by home) to the lovely dining establishment chosen by their Senior pal Luke:
COSTCO food court!!!!!

The group of 20+ couples dined on a gourmet pre-homecoming meal of hot dogs, chicken bakes, pizza slices, and very berry sundaes. Luke's amazing Mom & Dad (with the help of friends) made the whole thing happen. They decorated, collected money, took orders, waiting in line, placed orders, and delivered the fine fare to the awaiting diners.

We went and took photos and then did some much needed shopping (we were in MAJOR need of a Costco sized pack of toilet paper, thank-you-very-much!).

Then off to the dance.
A fabulous night was had by ALL!!!

High School (HSM) Summer Camp

This week is Deevs turn to go to summer camp with church!
He will be there for his 16th BIRTHDAY!!!
(And now he will have to delay his driver's license test 'til after he gets back.)

He disappeared so quickly we didn't even get to say goodbye or give him any cash or anything.
My Facebook status currently reads "Dropped Deevs for HSM camp. He didn't say goodbye, We couldn't find him. He has no $$. Buses were leaving. *sigh* Oh well. Have a good time, son, we'll miss you!!!"

Homecoming #2

What fun to be in high school... to have a zillion friends... to have your team WIN the homecoming game... to have one of your BEST friends be on the Homecoming Court.  What a BLAST to go to homecoming with 2 dozen of your favorite people.  Oh, to be young and happy and carefree!

Football Fall

Oh my GOSH!
Varsity football is a whole new world and we are having the best time with it... what fun!
Winning is especially nice.
And having Lando actually playing
(instead of being 3rd string as it looked like he was going to) is even better.

Then, having him score 2 touchdowns in two games is EVEN BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!

Every position in football is so valuable and necessary, but is sure fun to have Lando playing offense - in a position to even GET to score... let alone score.
WOW!  What a treat!
He is having the most AWESOME time.
He is really regretting having not played for all of high school until walking on as a Senior.
He is now wishing he could play in college.

GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2nd & 3rd Days of School

Deevs was not so impressed with his first day of High School... he came home mopey saying the next 4 years were going to be "long".
He is Algebra 2/Trig with a bunch of Juniors who were none to happy about being in class with freshmen.

Lando too came home and pronounced that year would be "long".
His first class is 2nd period, so he parks in Egypt.
He has a real heavy class load, poor guy: drama 1, art & drawing, football, english 4, and AP Econ (one good, hard class).

Miss M is still riding the thrill of all the social (SO MANY KIDS... she was marveling at how just the 7th grade class alone was bigger than then entire student body of her small private school from Kindergarten - 8th grade!!!).  She is also excited that "Gibby" from iCarly (pictured below with the stars of the show) goes to her school and is in at least one of her classes (English, I think),
